alma beccarelli - D.ia.rio
d.IA.rio is an autobiographical project born from an experiment in using artificial intelligence to serve memory. Memories and images from the author's childhood secret diary are rewritten with the sensitivity of an adult who revisits these mostly traumatic recollections in an attempt to rediscover herself. The machine serves as a medium for experiencing this sensitivity, which remains central to perception, even in the age of AI.
Alma Beccarelli was born in Parma in 1994. She graduated in Painting and later in Photography at CFP Bauer in Milan, Italy. Over the years, her passion for photography has been enriched by various work and life experiences, some of which led her to relocate to Lausanne, where she lived for a period. Her artistic research spans from traditional photographic production to the reworking of images through manipulation, utilizing both AI technologies and more analogue methods such as collage. Central to her artistic practice, often explored through an autobiographical lens, is the investigation of themes such as health and femininity.
She is also involved in digitizing archival material and creating multimedia content for interactive and digital exhibitions.
