RACHELE CENTOrE- ENCLOSURE

In the near future, identity is no longer erased but preserved.
To be maintained, it must stop evolving.
It is not an idea, nor an experience, but a condition to be preserved.

The body becomes a functional shell: it protects what remains recognizable of the individual. Not to keep it alive, but to prevent it from changing.

The idea comes from observing today’s society, which is increasingly standardized. We become uniform almost without noticing it, allowing our identity to fade away.

Rachele Centore imagines a future in which this process is taken to the extreme: society will no longer want us to change and will try in every possible way to strip away our identity in order to preserve it.
Her project aims to photograph this suspended condition, to make visible what risks disappearing.
