Vittoria di Battista - Feel the gap
The aesthetic choices you make as an artist define the message hidden behind every picture you take. Is there a way to be sarcastic and conceptual at the same time? Deep and superficial? Saturated and poetic? I believe so.
"Feel the Gap," the new photographic project by Vittoria Di Battista, is proof of that. Every photo tells a story: dysfunctional, ironic, powerful and fragile, all together at the same time.
The phrase that came to my mind when I first saw those photos was: I cried when I laughed, or maybe the contrary, I laughed when I cried.
The strenght of this project lies in this dichotomy. Good and bad together, the beauty and ugliness of life in the same room, so closely intertwined that you can hardly recognize one from the other.
"Feel the Gap" is a great summary of life as it truly is.
