INNER SPACES
AUTHOR
Frédéric Rennes
Inner spaces is a visual research which reflects on the photographic image on a communicative level, and every represented element emerges as symbol and metaphor of the inner dimension of the subconscious.
The author creates a correspondence between natural and psychic landscapes, accompanying the spectator in the deepest corners of the human mind through the use of long exposures and the juxtaposition and isolation of the compositional elements in the landscape.
Celestial bodies and mountains become anchors of the human mind, and its darkest and most unknown corners. From micro to macro, from the tangible to the untangible, the author investigates the infinite power of the unconscious, beyond its human decifrability, in a succession of known and unknown elements, to create a sense of disorientation in the viewer.
